CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – April 15, 2017– The Metro Library Network, a collaboration between the Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, and Marion Public libraries, will begin lending wifi hotspots to library card holders on April 17.
Library card holders can check the hotspots out for 21 days. Each library will have a select number of devices and holds will not be allowed at this time. Patrons must visit their library to check out the devices.
“Circulating hotspots will allow us to serve patrons in a new and meaningful way,” said Elsworth Carman, Director of the Marion Public Library. “Working with our consortium-mates to develop this service expands our reach and maximizes the impact of the devices.”
Wifi hotspots provide access to the internet anywhere there is a Verizon cell connection.
